Vicente Sanchis, Massanassa (Valencia), Spain

Vicente Sanchis had his workshop at number 32 Carrer Del Foc, in the Ciudad Artista Fallero (Valencia) next to Guitarras Hnos Sanchis López.

A company managed by David and Germán Sanchis López, the fourth generation of the family saga, started by Ricardo Sanchis Nácher.

When in 1915 he founded a small authentic workshop in his house in Massanassa to build guitars. He had a long apprenticeship to develop his specialization, which began in his youth working for some builders of this musical instrument, such as Salvador Ibáñez and Telesforo Julve. His military service worked at Domingo Esteso, Casa Ramírez and Casa González.

The tradition was continued by his sons, Ricardo and Vicente Sanchis Badía, the first being the one who began to expand the sale of guitars, both nationally and internationally.

After the founder died in 1961, Ricardo Sanchis Carpio and his uncle Vicente Sanchis Badía built a larger workshop with more employees due to the great demand for guitars.
Four years later, Ricardo Sanchis Carpio, son of Ricardo Sanchis Badía and María Carpio Pastor, became independent.

He set up a small fundamental workshop, which moved to different locations in Valencia before ending up in Carrer Del Foc in Ciudad Artista Fallero, first at number 8 and then at number 32.

He is the revolutionary of the Sanchis saga, because he made the guitars made until then essential, evolved and improved enormously, interacting with professional guitarists, both classical and flamenco, to increase his knowledge of the instruments he makes and satisfy the tastes of the musicians. He has worked with artists of the stature of Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, Salva del Real.

His sons David and Germán are the current successors and learn from the beginning to the end, from a very young age and from the hand of their father, this craft, whose motto is: Constantly improving the guitar, and adapting the guitars to the tastes of the guitarists.

For this reason, many professionals of the stature of Carlos Piñana, Pedro Sierra, Rafael Cortés, Chicuelo practice their profession with Sanchis instruments for recordings and performances.
This method results in the new Special Luthier model being a 100% personalized flamenco or classical guitar, with the material and cut that the customer prefers.
The customer is always kept informed of the manufacturing process by means of photos via e-mail. The customer also receives, together with the instrument, a CD with all the photos of the construction process.

Currently, Vicente Sanchis guitars are built in Masanasa, in the Valencia area.
This workshop with about twenty to twenty-five employees produces about 700 guitars per month.More than 30 models are produced, including: classical guitars, flamenco guitars, specials and parlor guitars.

The guitars range from beginner guitars with laminated backs, to luthier models that are completely solid and made of exotic woods.

In the year 2000, Vicente Sanchis returned from the company, which was characterized by his son and business partner Manuel Alcoy.

He still produces guitars that use the same traditional techniques and the same employees.
