Bass Guitar

The bass is mainly used to support the rhythm section.
The first electric bass guitar was built in 1936 by Audiovox Manufacturing Company in Seattle and was not a success.
In 1951, Fender released the Fender Precision Bass from. This is the first mass-produced electric bass.
Designer Leo Fender instrument meant to replace the double bass. 

The design did not appeal to jazz musicians but did to pop and rockmusic even more.
So actually the bass only exists very shortly.
They are available in acoustic and electric versions, with four and five strings and fretted and fretless.
