Gipsy Guitar

The gypsy guitar has been developed around the year 1930 by Mario Maccaferri for the Selmer guitar company in Paris, France.

This guitar is sort af a crossbreed between a normal flattop guitar, a jazz guitar and a Spanish guitar.

They produce a rather sharp tone witch is very suitable for gipsy jazz. Django Reinhardt made this music worldfamous in the years 30 of the last century.

Still Django Reinhardt festivals are held throughout the world in honour of his person and achievements for this musicstyle.

Great followers in this tradition are: Jimmy Rosenberg, Stochelo Rosenberg, Frank Vignola and many others.

The guitars are produced with the famous D-hole and the smal O-shaped hole.
